Plan your Odessa CDL test appointment
If you are getting a CDL for an Odessa oilfield or equipment-hauling job, describe the truck you expect to operate when you call. A straight truck carrying tools and a tractor pulling a trailer can call for different test vehicles. We can discuss air brakes, transmission type, backing practice and availability for your DPS appointment.
Before you schedule the skills test
Check the issue date and class on your commercial learner permit. Texas DPS requires a 14-day CLP holding period for applicable applicants. Confirm any required ELDT completion and use the exact testing address and date in your appointment notice.

Questions about vacuum trucks and equipment trailers
Tell us whether the tank sits on the truck or on a trailer, what it carries, and what the equipment is rated to haul. Confirm the endorsement and vehicle class you need with DPS before arranging practice.
